Antenna (radio) - Most simply, an antenna or aerial is an electronic component designed to transmit or receive radio waves. The words "antenna" and "aerial" are used throughout this article with precisely the same meaning.
CB radio in the United Kingdom - CB Radio was first introduced into the United Kingdom in around 1978 (although these dates are hard to confirm accurately). These early adopters used Citizens' Band Radios imported from the United States that were illegal to own and use.
Frequency multiplier - A frequency multiplier is commonly used in a radio receiver or radio transmitter to multiply the base frequency of the oscillator by a predetermined number. This multiplied frequency is then amplified and sent to the final drive stage and into the antenna tuning/coupling circuit for delivery to the transmitting antenna.
Citizens' band radio - Citizens' band radio (CB) is, in the United States, a system of short distance radio communication between individuals on a selection of 40 channels within the single 27 MHz (11 meter) band. The CB radio service should not be confused with FRS, GMRS or amateur radio.
